Teaching Philosophy
Lauren’s primary goal is to introduce young children to the piano, to music, and to the broader world of the arts in a warm, encouraging, and age appropriate way.
Rather than approaching piano lessons only as technical instruction, Lauren wants lessons to serve as a child’s first meaningful encounter with music and the arts. She seeks to make the piano inviting, enjoyable, and inspiring, while also helping students build good habits, basic musicianship, confidence, listening skills, and a sense of accomplishment.
For students who show a deeper interest in the instrument, Lauren is also prepared to guide them into more serious piano study, including stronger technical development, note reading, rhythm, repertoire, practice discipline, performance preparation, and a more structured classical approach.

Piano lessons near the University of Texas.
Lauren is based near the University of Texas campus and teaches students from across central Austin, including West Campus, North Campus, Hyde Park, and the surrounding neighborhoods. Lessons are offered in person or online.
